Help

If you are confused about which type of backing-tracks you need, then read the information below for a brief summary.

Standard Midifiles
These are available on Floppy Discs, or Direct by E-Mail, and can be used in sequencers, midifile players and some keyboards. Rather than containing the actual sound for the backing-tracks, they only contain the data that makes up the music. This means that the quality of the sound of these tracks varies slightly depending upon what equipment (keyboard etc.) is used. In general the sound quality is good but the sounds aren't as 'real' sounding as the instruments they try to emulate. One advantage of using midifiles is that the volumes of various instruments can be adjusted by the user, it also means that the keys and tempos can be altered to suit personal requirements (perhaps even for a particular performance!).

Budget Tracks

These are available on Compact Disc, Minidisc and Cassette Tape, and are recordings of the midifiles (see above). Because they are recorded from high quality studio equipment, the sound quality is very good. These tracks can be supplied in various keys for a small surcharge.

High Quality Production Tracks

Available on Compact Disc, Minidisc and Cassette Tape, these tracks are exellent reconstructions of the original songs. They feature real instruments such as guitars and pianos as played by our 'in house' session musicians. The tracks can be ordered in various keys (but only those listed in the catalogue).  These tracks are ideal for a very professional 'on stage' sound.
